Alsatian Christmas cookies

Alsatian Christmas cookies:

Ingredients for 4 people


250g Flour
3 tsp. Coffee Yeast
60g Powdered sugar
1sachet Vanilla sugar
1Egg yolk
1 tablespoon. Soup Milk
100g Butter at room temperature

For the glaze :

150g Sugar
1Egg white
1Spoon of lemon juice.

Steps of preparation

1- Mix the sifted flour and baking powder in a bowl and then add the sugar, vanilla sugar, egg yolk, milk and butter until smooth. Form a ball and film. Set aside in a cool location for 2 hours.

2- Roll out the dough by 5 mm with a rolling pin. Cut out the shapes with star and fir tree shaped shortbread cutters.

3- Preheat the oven to 180°. Place the shortbread on a baking tray covered with baking paper. Bake for 15 to 25 minutes. Leave to cool.

4- For the glaze :

5- Mix powdered sugar with lemon juice and egg white. Add hot water little by little to obtain a thick mixture. Fill a pastry syringe and decorate your shortbread.

Tips and advice for Alsatian Christmas cookies

add a few drops of colorant to obtain a colored glaze. Have fun juxtaposing and drawing.
